Helping you find the best Serviced Offices in London

What Every Office Needs

Whether you are deciding on a serviced office or a unmanaged office, there are many things you will need to consider when renting office space. I’m going to go through a list of things every office should have, feel free to bookmark this page and use it as a checklist.

1. Office furniture

Most serviced offices will come with desks. But most of them don’t come with accessories such as chairs, filing cabinets, lamps and shelves. You need to be able to source all your office furniture. Choose a suitable supplier and make a list of all the furniture you need.

2. Stationary

We all love stationary, from pens to staplers to sticky notes. Stationary is considered as small tools and are actually very important. Again you should write up a list of all key stationary stuff you need.

3.  IT Stuff

99.9% of businesses all use computers, not only do you need computers but you will also need printers, fax, network switches and even a server. A generally rule is that you should consult with a IT company when setting up a office. They can help you minimize your costs and offer you a tailored IT solution for your office.

4. Cleaners

Some serviced offices don’t provide cleaners and if your going for a unmanaged office then you will need to find a cleaning company, unless you want to keep your overheads to minimum you can always put your back into it.

5. Staff

This is very obvious but at the same time many companies don’t utilise their office space for 3 months or so. It always occurs to me, why would someone start a company and not employ beforehand? To save on office rent you should should try and fill your office with staff within 1 month of moving in.

Many businesses make the mistake when going for one company that provides it all. Yes it can save you admin time but for a business it will generally cost you more in the long run. Don’t choose a supplier that has those all-in-one options. Try choosing a company which specializes in a particular field that way you can ensure your supplier is giving you the best prices. In short, get a supplier for furniture and a different one for office supplies, if possible get at least 2 or 3 suppliers for every need. This way you can always negotiate on your pricing and get the rival companies to go head to head, in business the winner takes it all!
