Top 5 Places in London to Have a Office

Having a office in London is probably good enough, but if you’re after that extra little more than why not have a office in a prime location in London. In this article I’m going to list the top 10 locations for having a office in London. Whether it be a serviced office in London or a normal space, it all boils down to location. So here goes my top 5 list!

1. London Bridge

Over looking the River Thames and situated in the heart of London. London Bridge is a very exclusive area, surrounded by famous historic sites. Many offices overlook the Thames and the higher buildings (serviced offices) provide an exceptional view of London from above.

Good Points:

  • Worldwide famous name “London Bridge”
  • Area is surrounded by historical sites
  • Over looking the River Thames

Bad Points:

  • All year round the area is flooded with tourists.
  • 80% of offices are all serviced, no much option for unmanaged offices.

2. Mayfair

The word Mayfair paints a picture of rich, gold, Rolls Royce, purple and luxury. It sure lives up to them words, offices in Mayfair don’t come cheap and some location’s like St James’s are the most expensive areas in the world. With Buckingham Palace and Royal family shopping centres (Fortnum & Masons), offices in Mayfair don’t come cheap.

Good points:

  • Lot’s of famous bars and restaurants
  • Neighbours include the Royal Family and the Al Fayed’s.

Bad points:

  • Extremely high priced, not for the average business.

3. Notting Hill

I personally love Notting Hill, it’s hip, stylish and gorgeous. Notting Hill is nothing like London, it’s hidden away and yet one of the most exclusive locations in London. It became more popular after the film “Notting Hill” with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant was released. Notting Hill doesn’t attract the corporate businesses and that alone makes the area even more better!

Good points:

  • Famous for the Notting Hill Carnival
  • 15 minutes away from central London.
  • Plenty of good food and varieties available.
  • Offices are much more larger

Bad points:

  • Most offices are not close to transport links.

4. Canary Wharf

The area Canary Wharf is mostly associated with the tall building sticking out. Many believe it’s called Canary Wharf but it’s actually called number 1 Canada Square and yes it’s the tallest building in Untied Kingdom. The building is so tall it’s even caused television signal interference in local areas! Serviced offices in Canary Wharf are state of the art and the location is excellent for businesses.

Good points:

  • Transport links are very close
  • Close distance to key London districts.
  • Offices in high buildings have a fantastic view of London.

Bad points:

  • Buildings are too high and not enough sunshine. Quite cold in the shade.

5. Oxford St

Technically you could argue Oxford sits in Mayfair, but the street is so long and covers a huge area that it runs all the way up to Tottenham Court Rd. Oxford St is famous for it’s vast amount of high street stores and it’s famous Christmas decorations. There are plenty of serviced offices in London and I like to think that the best offices reside on Oxford St. Although the offices don’t come cheap, there are plenty of them around in Oxford St. You will find that most serviced offices in London are located in and around Oxford St.

Good point:

  • Lot’s of serviced offices in side streets
  • Excellent for transport links
  • Lot’s of restaurants for client entertainment.

Bad points:

  • Over packed with lot’s of shoppers
  • Offices spaces are very tight
  • Buildings are on top of each other and not enough sunshine

So there we are, my top 5 best locations to have an office space in London. Overall if you don’t want to spend much and you want to be away from the whole pollution I would strongly recommend you to check out Notting Hill. If your business is more of a orporate nature than serviced offices in Canary Wharf would be the way forward.
